The huge cloud comes from the power station just left of the pic; it’s a cloud factory. All sorts of wildlife and birds live here, some of them just winter here either flying south from the arctic, some fly in for the summer from Africa. There are lots of bird-hides around the gravelpit lakes, the area is close to the local river and attracts lots of bird enthusiasts to watch and photograph them; on the evening of the pic they were all hiding themselves as the sun set.
